Advanced Electrode Material Design for Energy Conversion 2026/09/29

Introductions

Existing Proton Exchange Membrane electrolysis modules rely on expensive precious metals such as Pt and Ir, as well as non-eco-friendly fluorinated membranes. This technology optimizes the Anion Exchange Membrane system by integrating hydrocarbon-based membranes and non-precious metals, achieving high-efficiency and low-cost hydrogen production.

Technical Advantages and Features

  • Proprietary Development of Critical Components: Eliminates the use of precious metal catalysts such as Pt and Ir, while matching the electrolysis performance of precious metal catalysts through low-cost nickel-based catalyst technology.
  • High-efficiency MEA Design and Fabrication: Achieves a current density of 0.4 A/cm² at ambient temperature under 1.7 V, and also reaches 0.4 A/cm² at 65 °C under 1.7 V. It delivers electrolysis efficiency greater than 80% HHV, significantly reducing power consumption.
  • High-pressure Hydrogen Stack Production: Features a 45-bar pressure-resistant design to optimize subsequent storage and transportation costs.

Industrial Applications and Business Opportunities

  • Industry Applications
    • Decarbonization for the steel and petrochemical industries, and hydrogen energy conversion applications.
  • Application Examples
    • The hydrogen module is integrated into leading domestic plants for hydrogen-blended power generation, achieving a 10% blending ratio.
    • In collaboration with domestic partners, the system is also applied to CO2 conversion and utilization for producing methanol and methane with over 95% purity.
