Tuned Mass Damper Vibration Suppression Technology
2026/09/29
Introductions
Machine tool vibrations during cutting process are classified into high and low frequency. High-frequency vibrations can be reduced by adjusting spindle speed, while low-frequency vibrations are caused by structural natural frequencies and often leave marks on workpiece surfaces that require manual polishing. This technology suppresses low-frequency vibrations using resistance generated by relative motion, providing a faster and more effective solution than traditional structural redesign methods.
Technical Advantages and Features
- Model-compatible Damping Technology: External vibration suppression device. Compatible with various manufacturers’ machine models. Provides customized damping device technical services.
- Amplitude Reduction & Cutting Optimization: Structural vibration amplitude of machine tools is reduced by approximately 50%, while cutting depth increases from 1 mm to 4 mm. Improved vibration issues in dual-axis machine tool heads, reducing displacement response amplitude from 0.28 to 0.13 μm/N and enhancing machining stability.
- Robotic Arm Precision Improvement: Structural vibration issues reduced by over 30%. Robotic arm vibration reduced by approximately 60%. Motion accuracy improved by 30%.
Industrial Applications and Business Opportunities
- Industry Applications
- Machine tools, petrochemical, aerospace, semiconductor, and precision measurement sectors.
- Intelligent Factory.
- Application Examples
- Successfully implemented on large five-axis gantry machine tools. Through equivalent stiffness and damping configuration, vibration in critical machining frequency bands was reduced by approximately 55%, effectively eliminating vibration marks on aerospace wing components and improving cutting stability.
- The equipment passed acceptance testing and entered the international aerospace supply chain, generating over NT$80 million in additional annual output value.
