Man-Ning Lu

Man-Ning Lu Biography

Dr. Man-Ning Lu is an accomplished materials scientist and electrochemist specializing in advanced semiconductor packaging, green energy technologies, and intelligent electronics manufacturing. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and currently serves as Deputy Manager at the Advanced Circuit Manufacturing Process & Equipment Technology Department in the MMSL, ITRI. Her research focuses on adhesion layer development for Through-Glass Via (TGV) applications, functional metal oxide materials, and electrochemical energy systems, with an emphasis on improving metallization reliability and advancing sustainable technologies.

Dr. Lu began her professional career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at National Tsing Hua University, where she contributed to the development of next-generation functional materials and significantly optimized experimental data management. She then joined TSMC in 2021 as a Principal R&D Engineer, working on N2 Front-End-of-Line (FEOL) etching technology with a focus on enhancing process precision and stability for semiconductor manufacturing.

Since joining ITRI in 2022, Dr. Lu has spearheaded a range of cross-disciplinary projects and international collaborations. She played a key role in establishing Taiwan’s high-aspect-ratio TGV glass packaging capabilities, enabling industrial deployment and driving domestic technology upgrades. She has also promoted global cooperation through joint programs with UK partners, including projects on 3D structured electronics manufacturing and advanced probe card technologies, further strengthening innovation across industries.
